I just emailed Boris and this is what they said:
“You would need to the paid for version of PI 2020 to allow background behind the particles for Vegas.”

Would be nice if they were to have mentioned this upfront in their tutorials instead of saying it was fully funcitional!

[Roger Bansemer] “Would be nice if they were to have mentioned this upfront in their tutorials instead of saying it was fully funcitional!”

Roger! You didn’t ASK that . . . You asked for an ALPHA. In the Roger Bansemer thread above I told you how. You are dealing with the FREEBIE Pi, and of course, if you want to have VIDEO then you need to PURCHASE the full pI for Vagas, which I have. And again, you only asked if you could attain an ALPHA channel. As to pi FREEBIE it is fully functional for the PARTICLES.

Again, Roger, you ONLY asked for the ALPHA.

    Hi Graham,
I thought I was clear. PI is of no use as a free download except to simply play with but it can’t be used in Vegas as a transparent overlay and the Boris tutorials made no mention of this at all. If fact they showed how to render it, etc. but as I found out after spending countless hours it simply isn’t transparent when put in Vegas without purchasing it.
I may just purchase it but it’s sure wasted a lot of time trying to just figure out this one thing.

Roger, it’s obvious you haven’t viewed my “Roger Bansemer” posting above. In that I show you how to have an ALPHA Channel render. And have it as an overlay on the VP Timeline. Go view it.

Off topic Grazie, I’d say you have the perfect system for the new ground-breaking Microsoft Flight Simulator. Any desire to play it? I’m jealous of your set-up. The more high-end one you have, the more realistic the sim looks. I’d like to play it, but I don’t want to buy a new computer for just that.
