Vegas Movie Studio 11 HD AVCHD vs AVI
Posted by Randy Champion on March 20, 2012 at 7:13 pmIs there a tutorial anywhere that shows how to do the swap to AVI to edit and then insert the AVCHD to render? I’ve gone through tons of posts here about AVCHD and AVI, but I am just looking for a “How To” tutorial to give it a whirl.

March 20, 2012 at 9:35 pmEasy, your avchd is call avchd.mts, make that into proxy.avi. (they must be the same length, same frame count)
Edit the movie using proxy.avi. Before rendering save as a another veg. Like, edit01.veg has the avi, save as edit02.veg.In the project media window for edit02.veg right-click on proxi.avi and select replace with, and specify the avchd.mts file

March 21, 2012 at 4:13 pmWow, so easy. I guess I was stressed after watching this:

and figuring I had to go through all of that.
Now my biggest concern is rendering. These videos I am creating are thrilling, exciting training videos for a plumbing supply company (YAWN!! Ball Valves 101, Water Heaters, etc.) that will be used for training new employees. Most of the time they will either be burned to a DVD for play on a 52″ LCD TV, or loaded on to a thumb drive to be viewed either on a computer screen or projected on a large screen. I have been rendering to 1280×720-30p but sometimes the animated text jumps. So the last one I rendered to HD 1920×1080-60p was smooth, but is that overkill? Some contents or functionalities here are not available due to your cookie preferences! This happens because the functionality/content marked as “Google Youtube” uses cookies that you choosed to keep disabled.
