Vector Sci Fi…
Hi guys,
I’m moderately new to C4D, but I’ve kind of thrown myself in at the deep end.
I want to make a video that jumps between 2D and 3D representations of a classic 80s style arcade game. Potentially with a mix of these two styles, but with a modern twist. Super-dynamic camera moves, etc.

So if you imagine I have a ship modelled in a fairly boxy way (no hypernurbs), I’d like it to have a semi-wireframe, neon look, but not to be fully transparent in the polygon areas like the original star wars arcade above. Ideally I’d like the wireframe look, but with semi-transparent panels.
I haven’t been able to achieve both aspects of this look. I can get the panels right with a basic material and a glow added somewhere down the line, but then can’t add the wireframe effect to that.
I got close to just the wireframe effect with the atom array, but then obviously I lose the panel effect. Also, I couldn’t get rid of those ball things that it places on the joins of the vertices.
Any ideas as to how I could achieve this look??
Many thanks,
Nico
