    Hello Guys.

We are struggling form long time with spotlight and search since leopard upgrade, everyday our data raid is getting better and need a search program that works. Does any one have any suggestions any clue is very welcome.

    This is what we have.

4 Xserve Raid 14×750 (Raid 5,0 Journalized HFS+) , hooked to a metadata X Serve, serving 4 edit bays trough a fiber network using MetaSan.

All edit bays MacPro 16Gb Ram (Intel) have Leopard 10.5.8
    X serve Dual G5 4Gb Ram has Tiger 10.4.11

    Thanks in advance.

I believe your issue is with Metasan, not the Xserve RAIDs. You should contact Tiger and ask what they are doing with their filesystem to work with spotlight in Leopard.

They might have some suggestions on asset management software that works well with their software.

There is also Easy find that will search SAN volumes as a substitute if spotlight isn’t working.
