    Anyone else had this?

Its hard to describe and even more annoying. I upgraded to AJA IoHD6 and did the firmware upgrade.
Now my monitor has a consistent flicker even when looking at the internal test patterns.

I plan to re-install the upgrade to see if that helps, but would love any suggestions or feedback.

I was in between projects, but need to start one tomorrow.

    PLEASE help!!!!

not sure if this helps but I’m monitoring with a Panasonic LH1700W that was working perfectly immediately before the upgrade.
I worked on it all day, completed project, surfed the cow, found new update, downloaded (ran disk utility before and after) and installed upgrade, updated firmware.

Anyone from AJA monitoring this forum????

    Hi Todd

I can’t help you because I’ve the same problem. Since 6.0 update sftware, and only when I work on a 720p50 project, the SD analog video output flickers (PAL 625i25). No problem with 1080i25 nor 1080p25.
    Very embarrassing…

Any idea here at the cow ?

    Thanks for your help.

How do you expect any help without giving us anything but it worked before the upgrade?

It has been noted by a couple of people that there is an error in the field order for PAL in the v6 driver.

check your sequence settings to confirm that it is set for upper field first.

    Hey Gary,

Not sure what information would help, but here is my setup.

    MacPro 3GHz octo
    AJA IoHD
    Panasonic LH1700W
    Lacie BIGGEST RAID
    Firmtek enclosure RAID

Working mostly with footage from P2 cards at 720p, but also notice it with dv footage.
Heck, my monitor even flickers if I send it a bars FROM the AJA itself.

As mentioned before, this was introduced immediately after upgrading to 6.0 and performing the firmware upgrade.

What else would you need to know to be able to help?

Just fired it up again, to see if I could get some more information to post.
Started poking around in the control panel.

I noticed that my playback timing setting was on video in, and I don’t have a deck connected, so I changed it to “freerun” and VIOLA……that was it!!!

I don’t remember this setting in the previous version, is that just cause I had “set it and forget it”?
Or is this a new feature “playback timing”? I notice too a horiz and vert timing controls.

    I feel MUCH better now.

Phillipe, I don’t think that this would help your situation, due to your description, but I found it in the IoHD Control Panel/Control/Playback Timing/Genlock

[todd reid] “but here is my setup. “

what about app and OS and qt versions?

none of that hardware works without the proper software.

glad you got it fixed however.

    Hi Gary,

Cheers for your help, but it doesn’t work for me. I didn’t explain very well my problem : it’s not really a “flicker” problem, monitor (sec PAL 625i25) looks weird, as if there is a color mishandling on signal : diagonal thin band accross the image even on the test pattern. It appends only when primary is 720p50 (and of course secondary format is always 625i25). No problem with 1080i25 or 1080p25 with FCP 6.0.4 and test pattern. The problem is present everywhere, even when I read a .mov 720p25 Prores with AjaTV.

I didn’t have any problem with previous Aja software realase…

    Any clue?

    Cheers.

For Todd : your trick doesn’t work for me as this setting was already in previous control panel.

    For Gary : I forget to mention : OS : 10.5.4, QT : 7.5.0

    [philippe Domengie] “Any clue? “

uninstall and reinstall the IoHD software again.

Make sure that you run the IoHD firmware updater even if you think it has been done before.- I think one of updates did not take.
