TIP: Reducing timelapse flicker
Hey all,
If you’re experiencing nasty timelapse flicker on a sunset shot and the color stabilizer effect doesn’t work for you, consider applying the time>echo effect to the footage. It doesn’t completely fix the flicker, but it can help smooth it out somewhat.
Try using 3 or more echoes, echo time at -0.033 with the echo operator set to minimum or maximum. Experiment!

related tip:
typing -1/30 in the time field will give you a duration of minus 1 frame @ 30FPS
-7/30 an interval of 7 frames etc.or use -1/29.97 if you’re droppping the frame etc.
After Effects does the math for you, and you’re sure the decimals will go as accurate as After Effects can handle.
You can use simple math like this almost anywhere you can type a number, but I find myself _always_ using it with the echo effect 😎
