February 23, 2010 at 3:23 amSounds like you’re checking shots in the camera while you shoot- if you do this make sure to roll early and cut late so you have plenty of overlap between shots. Even one frame of unrecorded space on a tape between two shots is a timecode break.

February 23, 2010 at 3:51 amIv been told that, and it has helped, but it also happens when i dont look back at any footage at all. do you know how i can reset my timecode on the camera? and if that would make any difference?
thanks

February 24, 2010 at 11:45 pmThere’s nothing to ‘reset.’ If there’s a break on the tape it indicates space between shots or possibly contaminated heads that need to be cleaned. Either with a headcleaner or at a camera shot professionally.
