Text animation question…

December 3, 2013 at 12:32 pmHi all,
A tiny, tiny thing. I’m animating some text using the AE controls. I want to animate on some text one word at a time, either by scale or fade up of opacity.
So say I apply the ‘fade up words’ preset – the words fade up one at a time. Cool. But – how do I make them overlap? So, word 2 begins to fade up before word 1 has finished fading up, and so on.
Many thanks!

December 3, 2013 at 5:05 pmFor that specific preset you’ll have to change the shape from square to ramp up
Then delete the keyframes on “start”(keep it at 0)
Animate the offset from -100 to 100. Now you can control the “feathering” of the animation by changing the end value alone(without keyframing, 100 being the whole sentence).
