April 24, 2018 at 10:54 pm15 crashes a LOT more than 14 and 14 did more than 13. I am migrating away from Vegas because I need to work and render without crashes and failures.
As a whole 15 is better, as a program that 14. However, it isn’t a killer upgrade.Xavier (Scott) Francis

“15 crashes a LOT more than 14”
That’s not good to hear. I hope they have updates often to take care of these…Thanks for all the replies…

April 28, 2018 at 11:37 amI would say yes, but a few other users are really having it tough with Vegas 15, not sure if you would
have similar issues…. So the decision is yours.I like 15, but often still using Sony Vegas 13.

April 29, 2018 at 3:48 pmI cannot weigh in on the benefits of Vegas 15. But my experience with Vegas 14 has been overall excellent. I have not experienced the crashes that others are reporting. I do not use GPU acceleration. That may be the difference.

April 30, 2018 at 12:42 amJust out of curiosity, I turned on the GPU acceleration and Vegas 14 promptly crashed. But before it crashed, the playback frame rate was greatly improved on the multicam edit I was working on! And it continued to crash..
So, looks like we can’t have your cake and eat it too.

October 29, 2018 at 10:33 pmJumping into the deeper end I’m now recording to a Ninja Flame in 10-bit 4:2:2 ProRes. Sony Vegas 12 says it’s 8-bit. It recognizes it at 8-bit. Hmmm. How do I move on from here? Upgrade? download something? or give up on Vegas all together? I’d hate to do the later.

October 29, 2018 at 11:44 pmHi Rick,
I also record to a Ninja Flame ProRes HQ and DNxHD(HR) 4:2:2 10 bit. You should not have any problem with these in Sony Vegas Pro 13, Magix Vegas Pro 15/16. I do not have Magix Vegas Pro 14, so can not report on it.
How do you know Vegas Pro 12 only recognizes ProRes HQ as 8 bit?
Best Regards……George

October 30, 2018 at 2:36 amI’m using Vegas 12 at this point wondering if the upgrade is worth it.
When I load a file created as a 10-bit ProRes 4:2:2 file on the Ninja Flame, I load it to the timeline – Vegas asks if I want to set the project to this file’s properties. I say yes and then check properties. It says its a 8-bit file. There is no selection for 10-bit. Only 8 and 32-bit. So that’s what I’m thinking. I’m not sure if the upgrade changes this or not.
