Reliable link to EX1 firmware update??

Hi James.
I think we cross-posted.
Normally when people jump up by too many versions you get an error message on the screen.
If you’ve read about going back to 1.13, then try that.
There are two versions of 1.13 in the folder and I’ve always used the 0538 version.
I’m not sure what the differences are, but the other one (for the old version board) is there just for “completeness”.

not sure if I’m doing the right thing but the older versions that use the binary package loader don’t see the camera but the newer versions that use the version up tool do.
Do i need a different driver for the older packages?

Did you follow the instructions in the enclosed pdf document?

Also, what version of Windows are you using?
If it’s a recent version do you have an old machine with XP on.
That’s what I used to use.

I’m a bit lost as a new member.

I’m endeavouring to install Sony firmware from ver 1.11 to ver 1.13 then ver 1.25 – 1.26 for my Sony PMW-EX1 to enable use of Sonnet SxS to SD card adapter.

Regardless of Sony’s directions for setting USB connection to FW interface each attempt has failed. Computer iMac 27in. 2012/13 OS 10.10.4. Possibly Sony are blocking my link to the firmware.

Perhaps there are links to workable Sony FW files. I would really appreciate any assistance or suggestions. Thank you.

Hi Ron.

I’m a bit confused reading your message.
Do you have the firmware files and you just can’t connect to the camera, or are you trying to get hold of the files?

I’ve got copies of the Windows versions, if you have access to a windows pc.

The other thing to be aware of if you haven’t upgraded before is that you have to use the usb connector on the side, under the little metal cover held on by a screw.
