Anyone have any tips for me in going about re-constituting an edit in FCPX that originally utilized QuickTime ProRes transcodes (done with the 3rd party 5DtoRGB)? I would like to spruce up the edit a bit and have the original AVCHD clips utilized instead of the ProRes transcodes so that I can keep everything nice and tidy (and small).

Since the source files were created outside of fcpx, you won’t be able to reconnect.

It is a shortcoming of FCPX.

You can create proxy media of your source clips, tho, if you need smaller files.

I’ll follow up over here. 🙂

The files have to be almost exactly the same, including tc. Do your 5DtoRGB movies have tc?

I have the free Lite version and it doesn’t do tc, perhaps the paid version does?
