Qmaster/Matrox Compress HD conflict?
Hi everyone,
My gear:
MacPro Quad Core Intel Xeon 2.66 GHz
16GB RAM
OSX 10.6.3
FCP 7.0.2
Matrox CompressHD with up to date firmware
My problem:
We need to export to various formats (MPEG2/AC3 for DVDS, MPEG4, H.264 mainly) and to simplify things for the editors I have set up a droplet that enables them to draw up the “shopping list” of exports.
Up until recently I was not using Qmaster and things were ok, faster than with the old hardware and much faster H.264 since installing the Matrox card.
Yesterday I setup Qmaster to 6 instances and I am finding out that compression times for MPEG2,AC3 and MPEG4 are 3 times faster. But Qmaster does not want to play with the H.264 and fails on that.
I am thinking that it conflicts with the hardware accelerator card because when I use “This computer” (i.e. not the virtual cluster), things are fine. But this obliges me to do things in two steps and treat H.264 separately.
Has anyone found a way to have Qmaster play nicely with the Matrox hardware?
