ProRes 422 on firewire
i’ve searched around and kind of gotten an answer, but i’m not totally convinced. i’m working on a student film. the telecine house will give her HDCam tapes, and we’re planning to get this captured to either DVCPro HD or ProRes 422 at 1080p24. the big drawback is that i don’t have a RAID. i know DVCPro HD will run off of a firewire drive (we did that on the previous film), but it may be cheaper – and better for quality – to use ProRes 422. will ProRes 422 at 10bit 1080p24 run off of a firewire drive (400 or 800, i have both)? thanks for the help in advance.
