I am new switching to PP from Vegas Pro.
Question about setting up a new project I have an MXO2 mini max. (I only use for rendering H264 files)
    I shoot 1920 x 1080 .mp4 30P (Sony EX1)
I convert the files to Cineform 1920×1080 .avi 30p (high)

SO I see these option to use in sequence presets :
    EX1 1920×1080 30p
    Matrox 1920×1080 30p

What is best setting to use?
    Thank You

Instead of using a preset, you can create a sequence based on the clip settings as described in this post.

I did as the Post suggested and it set the sequence to from my Cineform AVI 1920×1080 to AVCHD 1920x1080P square Pixel.. Is this a correct setting for an AVI?

[Don Cobble] “Is this a correct setting for an AVI?”

Cannot say without more information. These are the key sequence settings; are any different from the source footage?

    – Timebase (aka frame rate)
    – Frame size (horizontal x vertical)
    – Pixel aspect ratio
    – Fields
    – Audio sample rate

If you are unsure about the source file, right click on it in the Project Panel and select Properties.

By the way, have you tried importing the camera files directly without transcoding?

An avchd preset will do just fine for CF.
The edititing mode is not that important.
If I drop a CF avi in the New Item icon I get avc-intra.
What is important that the framesize, timebase, fields and PAR are correct.

I believe CS6 edits all formats natively, correct?

Also, I would edit your project first then either export or NEST your sequence into another sized sequence for delivery.
