We’re working on one of our first HD projects, and I’m having trouble getting quality results in Avid. I’m working on a bunch of titles and credits, working with text and HD video. My AE 6.5 files are 1920x1080i, I’m rendering them with the animation codec (uncompressed), upper field first, no alpha channels. They look fine on my mac, but in the edit suite (Avid Adrenaline, PC) they get jagged, strobe-y, and jerky. I saw on another post that Avid DNxHD is a recommended codec, but not for macs. The regular meridien codecs won’t work with the 1080i files. I also tried rendering them lower field first just in case, but they looked even worse. Frame rate is 29.97. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Our engineers and techhies are giving me blank stares.
