Premiere Pro 2017.0.1 Laggy “Play” playback – GTX 1080, SSD Raid, Xeon E5-2630 2.20 GHz (2 processors)
Greetings! No response at offical adobe forums.
System info:
Premiere Pro 2017.0.1
GTX 1080
SSD 0 Raid (hardware)
Xeon E5-2630 2.20 GHz (2 processors)
128 GB RamProblem:
Adobe Premiere is lagging, freezing when using “Play” button. Fine when scrolling timeline.
File type: MXF, 2k.Also strangely, when this lagg occurs, task manager reports 100% CPU usage. Also after the start up “play” lag, it countinues fine, at 2% CPU usage.
I could not find anything on this matter, a few older threads around the web with no answers. Can anyone help me out please?

Hey! Recording? Im not recording to any codec yet. Playing back the material when editing is laggy and freezes. CPU jumps to 100% for a second, have not had any similiar trouble. I read somewhere it might be about raid doing double checking or something, but does not make sense because its freezing and laggy because CPU jumps to 100% for a moment. Seems like an software issue, but if that would be the case then this wouldnt be such unusal problem.

what’s the codec of your video and what’s your sequence setting ? I’m not sure but laggy playback happened when they were different as far as my expericne concered….

I tried “New sequence from clip” and different sequence settings, did not change anything.

Ah, you are working on MXF files too?(Me too) Are you editing MXF in CC or CS vertion? ‘Cos I found that the playback of MXF is more smooth in CS6 than in CC. (just my onw opinion….)

do they work if you change preview to 1/4 resolution?

No, the preview does not change anything. Scrolling on timeline is fine tough, like I mentioned.

hmmm. are you mac? 10.12.3 MacOs fixed some premiere issues
