    Hi!

I’m importing TIFF images to FCP. They were created from my original DV footage, and are the same resolution & size as when they were exported to Photoshop to be worked on.

Comign back in, they look fine in the viewer, but shrink to 25% of their size once on my timeline, and when I enlarge, the resolution is awful. I knoww the files are full resolution, but I can’t seem to configure my sequence settings to play them back properly, and intercut them with my DV footage. I don’t get it!

    Anyone dealt with this issue?

    thanks!

How are you creating the TIFF files? Check the specification of the sequence you’re working in. What version of FCP is this?

    All the best,

    Hi Tom-

    I’m working on FCPro 6.

I created the TIFF files by exporting a still image form FCPro. So, I grabbed a frame from my DV footage, did some work on it in Photoshop, saved as a TIFF (I also tried Jpeg & Bmp, etc), and re-imported the file into FCPro. It shows up looking lovely in the viewer.

The sequence I;m working in is NTSC/DV, which is what I need to work in, I guess, to edit DV.

    Any ideas?

    thank you,
    Tony

Can’t help. Sorry. I can’t see why it would do that. I’ve never seen it happen.

I just solved the problem by saving the TIFF in Motion, as a motion file. Brought that into FCPro and it looks fine on NTSC/DV sequence.

    Trial and error!
