Hello! I seem to be having some trouble with Particular 2.0’s subframe sample options in After Effects CS4. I have a light emitter moving with a wiggle expression (similar to the light streaks tutorial on VideoCopilot.net) and get the usual problem of straight lines of particles as they move too far from the emitter.

Particular 2.0 is supposed to fix this with the ‘subframe sampling’ option, but it does nothing. I even tried turning it to ‘Exact (slow)’ and all it did was think for a few seconds and then render the exact same particles with no corrections…

    Purging also did nothing.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    [edit]

Sorry, I actually meant ‘Position Subframe’ wherever I said ‘subframe sample’.

    Thanks,

    Spencer

Set the “Position Subframe” under the “Emitter” to “10xSmooth” and that should fix it.
