Well, this is stumping me. Let me work this over in my head, and maybe some other P2 guru will chime in with “did you try…” and that will be just the thing…

Yeah, thanks for all your help. I really appreciate it. All over a txt file. Are those top 6 digits the first clip in the next P2 when it rolls over. Those digits don’t match anything in the content folders. I’m just wondering what they are. It obviously seems to be pretty significant. Have you successfully imported clips without that txt file?

The number in the txt file should match the name of the last clip in the VIDEO folder.

Upgrading to 5.1 may help. Also next time- keep everything together. The LASTCLIP.TXT file is not essential but it does seem to help.

Noah and Shane, thank you for your help. I might try creating my own txt file (doubt it will work), and I’ll also try upgrading to 5.1 on one of our systems here. Thanks again.

neil, you will be able to import p2 files without .txt file. Try copying a .txt file, if you have one, to the folder you want to import. If you can’t, then you have to have your contents folder at the root level of your drive. If you are pulling from lacie, then put contents folder of folder you which to import on the outside of the other folders. open fcp hit import p2 and it should appear.

Alright, I think I owe everyone a big apology. I now feel like one of those guys on these forums who just wasted everybody’s time. That’s cause I did. The director put some numbers in the name of the CONTENTS folder. Ex: CONTENTS31. I thought the camera was doing that. He told me specifically he didn’t mess with any of the names. I’m so sorry to waste all of your time. Shane, especially, I really appreciate all your help. I wish I could take your out for beers. I’m so sorry.
