Obviously you shoot the person on green screen. But what do you deliver to the client? Has anybody done this? Thanks.

July 10, 2009 at 8:16 pmFlash has alpha channels. Kind of sad that nothing in FCP does accept Animation, eh?

July 10, 2009 at 8:32 pmA flash file with an alpha. After you do the key, you export a flash with an alpha. You are talking aobut the talking head, right?

July 10, 2009 at 8:53 pmNo video codecs that come with FCP carry an alpha channel. Only 8bit RGB Animation, and that comes with Quicktime.

July 10, 2009 at 8:59 pmI’m thinking the talking head and the titles. What would you deliver to a client? Do we just assume that they have a web person who can handle a flash file with Alphas? How would the titles be done?

You could deliver a flash movie (prekeyed with titles and BG) and the client needs to program everything else (like the buttons) or you simply hand over a keyed taking head and have them program everything else. Yes, you’d need a Flash web designer.

You never assume, you should ask.

July 10, 2009 at 9:35 pmBy the look of the sample it has all been done , including the video c/k, using Flash.
The background is too clean to have been done in an NLE and then exported as FLV.Cinematographer, Steadicam Operator, Final Cut Pro Post Production.

July 10, 2009 at 9:52 pmIf the person is placed on a background like this, no alpha channel is needed. It’s just a regular movie and whatever format your Web people use will work.
Have a wonderful day.
