August 27, 2015 at 3:58 pmBlackmagic’s own tutorials page is fairly comprehensive to newcomers and those looking to “readjust” their perspective from other node-based compositors.

August 27, 2015 at 4:34 pmThe fact that it actually has waveform/vector scope puts it in a different (I didn’t say better) league than AE & Motion and the video out support of course should be mandatory for a pro app (ahem, Motion 5 I’m looking at YOU).
I’ve been using Motion 5 instead of AE since the breakup with Adobe (we still get back together once in awhile cuz we both know the same clients) and for most things it’s as good and sometimes better, sometimes worse. A third option is always a plus.

For in-depth, project based training – CMIVFX, FXPHD and Digital Tutors also have training titles that are worth checking out.

AE has had video scopes via Color Finesse since CS5…
EDIT: Make that v6.5…

August 27, 2015 at 6:31 pmAh true I remember playing with that years ago. But not exactly the same thing is it? Do you have to add cf to get the scopes? But AE has video out so I can always use scopes on the Flanders.
