NVIDIA Card with Yosemite and Premiere causing major graphics failure

OS X 10.10.13 Yosemite, MacPro early 2009, Quadro 400 for Mac.
Worked well last week with PrPro CC2014, works well today with PrPro CC 2015. In fact, only CUDA acceleration works for me with CC 2015. Open CL gives green frames, am not sure why. I also have Radeon HD5770 installed.

I just tried the latest CUDA release as of this morning (7.0.56 I believe) on 10.10.4 / iMac GeForce GTX 680MX. I’m running all the latest CC 2015 apps and STILL getting the same screen garbage after launching Premiere.

No fix.

oh boy.. well I installed back to Mavericks and CUDA has been working just fine. However, i’m having audio issues with CC2015. Audio waveform in preview goes away to flat green. Audio track mute will not stay on no matter what I do, even disabling automation. I know this is outside this post but anyone else having these issues?

Have any of your attempts to rebuild your edit station(s) been total ground up reinstalls of everything, from the OS to the Nvidia drivers and Cuda first, then adding Adobe apps?

Well, what I did was. I backed up the computer and did a clean install of Mavericks. Then I downloaded and installed Creative Cloud and other apps such as Video Copilot and Red Giant apps. Then recently, I upgraded to CC2015 and have been doing the corresponding updates with 3rd parties, etc.

actually david.. I can’t remember if I installed CUDA first before Adobe. CUDA will only install up to version 6 I think it is.. on Mavericks. Should I have done something different? or different with Yosemite?

Well, while I have not been using my system for more than basic editing lately, it certainly seems to be functioning without any of the issues I keep reading about here, and that’s on both Mavericks and Yosemite, with a GTX 680 Mac Edition and Cuda.

As I stated, I rebuilt from the ground up, in each case installing fresh downloads of the OS, updating those until I got the up to date message, then installing the latest Nvidia drivers and Cuda driver. Once everything was running perfectly, I then installed Adobe CC 2015, and it all seems happy as a clam.

I’ll check audio track muting and soloing later today to see if those seem buggy, and I’ll report back with the results. What else would you like me to check?

I’ve recently wiped the hard drive of my late 2012 iMac with nvidia 680mx and rebuilt the system, including CC2015. After reinstalling Yosemite, CUDA is no longer there and Premiere now runs on OpenCL. I’ve been intensively editing with CC2014 (and a bit 2015) for about a week now and the old video distortion problem is gone.
