    Hi

I’ve just shot a whole lot of footage as MXF files on a canon HD camera. In some of my folders, the MXF files are missing. So in each of the other folders there are 5 files, but in one of them only 4.

i imagine that there’s nothing i can do but thought i’d ask just in case.

by the way, i watched a preview of some of the clip on the camera, so i know they once existed.

    thanks
    tamsyn

Leave your data alone. You want to make an exact copy of your CF/SD card.

This tutorial will explain the exact workflow.

You willl need to download and install the Canon XF Log and Transfer plugin…

And then use the tutorial posted above.

thank you so much for your response.

I’ve not made myself clear. The issue is that many of my .MXF files have gone missing out of their folders within the overarching contents folder.

so although the sequence of folders (and my own memory) point to the fact that the video clips were shot, many of the folders are empty.

See the uploaded picture. In the AA00330 folder (for example) there’s no MXF file.

i never deleted them, so at a loss as to what could have happened.
