December 12, 2012 at 8:43 pmI agree that Sony Vegas since Pro 9 has meant weeks and weeks of trying to get it work. Love to hear what NLE comes close so the transition won’t be too much work.
Maybe it’s just me, but I’d like to understand WHY something goes wrong and WHY certain fixes work. I turned off GPU in preferences/video and voila: no more crashes when rendering. But then why did I have to buy this expensive graphics card if I have to turn it off? And WHY does SVP12 accept m2t video but won’t play it flawlessly? Are other NLEs just as cumbersome?

December 13, 2012 at 3:21 pmThe fact is there is no excuse. Sony uses it customers as beta testers. It took me forever to get SV11 to work right – and right now I’m kicking myself for upgrading.

December 13, 2012 at 3:44 pmDon’t kick yourself Charles, by upgrading it means that you still have a thread of hope left in you that somehow, someway this version will not be quite as bad as the last one. I would love to be able to only have to worry about getting great shots but instead I find myself dreading what unexpected bug lurks in Vegas this time. Hope is good, don’t lose hope.

December 14, 2012 at 8:18 amIn the mean time, while keeping up hope, it would be nice to get some work done with an NLE that doesn’t bug you all the time and preferably feels much like Vegas (just in case they might ever get it right again). Having to buy new hardware every few months to try and get SVP to work, is a habit I would dearly like to kick. Suggestions are very welcome. Premiere Pro? FCP? Something completely different?
