September 23, 2005 at 1:31 pmmost natural way i’ve found for camera shake is to put some tracking marks on a white wall, and shoot with a real camera shaking the way you want. track it, tie the data to the ae camera.

September 23, 2005 at 7:36 pmhey chris,
did a search on the forum for cam shake and found this u had last time.
do u have the null in 3d ? What exactly are the attributes to up and down ?
advise.thanks agian
Layer 1: Null -only animate X and Y position on this null
Layer 2: Null -this is parented to the null above it. This will only be “up and down” motion.
Layer 3: Null -parented to layer 2 – this would be some other motion like maybe cam shake or rotations
Layer 4: Camera – parented to Layer 3. No animation except camera specific parameters like focal length or focus -

September 24, 2005 at 6:09 pmHI I once used a plugin in the sapphire bundle called shake which worked very well. It has a whole bunch of parameters for rotation scale and motionblur.
I think you can download a 3 week demo that is fully functional.

September 25, 2005 at 2:04 amHey Spidex,
If I remember, that was from a post where they wanted to copy specific motion from a QT. I was showing how you can break up “groups” of motions into nulls parented to other nulls to make everything much simpler to keyframe.
I do cam shake in 3D (Maya and C4D) all the time using expressions, but have never done 3D Cam shake in AE, only 2D. I use motion sketch to record mouse positions or will track real footage to get data.
But I’m going to say that if you want to do 3D shake in AE, I’d look into noise expressions and apply them to a null. Then parent your cam to that null.
