I gotta say, I’m pretty disapointed with the performance of Media Encoder in CS4. Sequences from Premiere take FOREVER to load into the stupid thing. Also, there are times when Media Encoder decides to build the same file 2 or 3 times (even though I only set it to encode ONCE) for no reason. Also, encodes will crash resulting in a little yellow caution sign symbol in Media Encoder. Overall, Adobe did a crappy job with the Media Encoder portion of CS4. Two thumbs way down from me. Anyone else have issues with Encoder?

    Thanks,

    Aaron

I have had the same problems. I search and find tons of people complaining even within the Adobe forums and the service tech I talked to said they have never hear of that problem and that it must my unique to me. I am soooo frustrated. I thought at first it was me since this is the first big project that I am exporting using Media Encoder CS4. I wish I had a solution I have been all over the forums.

    David,

Yeah, I have never found anyone that has anything to say about the problems we’re experiencing. I work full-time and run my own business on the side. I am a video editor in both capacities. The computer at work I built identical to my computer at home. The only difference is that at home I run Production Suite CS3, and at work I run CS4. Overall, Premiere CS3 is WAY less buggy than Premiere CS4. I can count on one hand the amount of times CS3 has crashed on me. I have lost count the amount of times CS4 crashes on me. The Media Encoder portion of CS4 is especially buggy. Adobe rushed CS4 into release and failed to work out some MAJOR bugs.

Best of luck working around CS4.
