Media clips randomly turning black and disappearing

Resolve 10 has been turning some of the images black during the conform and also while I’m grading.
The solution has been to restart but it also happens without warning and as a result, the delivery ends up with black or missing media in random places.
What am I doing wrong here???? or is this a bug?
Could this happen if storage is reaching its limit?
The clips are still in the library but no longer linking.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I saw this when I had an Xdcam ref movie provided to me use. Blacked out random media when “add as offline” clip

I saw this bug on projects that had “TImecode Calculated at” 23.98 instead of 24.
I’m not sure if you can change that in v10, in v9 and below you have to create a new project and do a Color Trace.Now that rings a bell. Problems began when I added offline clip. I have gone in and transcoded all six reels that were given to me for reference files which should take care of any corruption there.
There is also the completed movie which I will also transcode so that all non R3D clips are prores 422HQ.
There are so many variables I have had to look at in determining what the problem could be and I appreciate the feedback from this message board.JT

I see similar problem but started out in different way.
I have prores material that is shot on Alexa.
Yesterday it opened fine and and when i imported xml for edit it also worked fine.
Today after opening project up again those files show just black.
Any ideas?

Multibridge 2 ProOK i found my problem.
Some of the material was connected from external drive by XML.
Now that the external drive was gone of course i get black boxes.
So see your files if the path exist in media pool etc.

Multibridge 2 ProI’ve run across this bug only in Resolve 10b3. All other 10 betas worked alright but when I upgraded this started happening after 5-10 minutes or so with the project open. All my media is on a connected network drive.
I can actually navigate the media pool over to the location of the missing clips and it shows the folder to be empty. The folder next to it is fine (all R3D media). Close the project, reopen, and it’s back… for a while. My best guess is that it has to do with the way R10b3 deals with networked media.
Never mind. Just rolled back to R10b1 and the same thing is happening. In a project with 500 clips all but a dozen went black. Totally random which ones stayed. Reopened and everything is back. Troubleshooting now.
This ay be your problem then ?
I mean problem with network.
Do you see correct path in media pool if clip is black?

Multibridge 2 ProOk I tweaked a few things and it seems to be mostly fixed. First, I had an offline drive selected for “Cacheclip” in General Options so I set that to a connected drive. Then I set the network drive to read/write access instead of read only (It’s the drive with all the R3D media only).
Now I still get some black frames but when I go to the edit tab and double click them most of them reappear. Some I have to go to the original source folder and reload that way which is a pain. This is after multiple close and reopens while troubleshooting. Not sure what’s happening here but hopefully there’s a fix in the next release. Seems to be random which ones go black.
