September 13, 2012 at 2:45 pmGilles & Joseph, if you’re having issues with NewBlue Titler Pro, please start a help ticket at newbluefx.com. Some things to start with:
1. Make sure you have the most current version installed. Download from here and install only the OpenFX version:
https://www.newbluefx.com/downloads.html2. Make sure you have the current video driver installed.
3. You can also try various things in Vegas: reduce the Ram Preview amount, change the preview setting to Preview (Auto), see what happens if you turn off GPU Acceleration (just to see if it makes a difference), etc…

September 13, 2012 at 6:12 pmHi Ed,
Thanks for this. It was quite confusing acquiring the correct update file from NB. I think I got it though. I did the “update” from the help of the plug-in.
Same issue though. Too sluggish to be useful.
Cheers,Gilles

I’m using the Sony titles and text media generator, didn’t find what you mentioned there.
I did set my preview to auto… no diff.Gilles

September 13, 2012 at 10:24 pmAlthough once you learn an interface it seems less daunting I have to chime in here and say that knowing both Premiere and Vegas given the choice, even with crashes I will, use Vegas. Premiere still has some of the “old school” ways of having clips interact that seem more suitable to computers ten years ago (i.e. keeping everything separate as to not overwhelm… not necessary with 3+ ghz computers.)
There is also another interesting fact to consider: buy Vegas 12 instead of Premiere. This of, of course, is dependent on whether 12 is any more stable but the web page says Vegas 12 will be able to import After Effects files. How well all attributes are ingested remains to be seen but this will solve your workflow problems.

September 14, 2012 at 12:02 am[Gilles Gagnon] “Thought I’d give Sony titles and text another go. I tried the “coming at you” preset, as is, out of the box. Performance is pathetic. it jumps/stutters like mad and I can’t really see the true result. This is at Preview-half resolution and with the track solo-ed. “
Some of the animations do stutter a bit but it’s not too bad on my workstation. Because they’re “canned” I usually don’t worry about them because I know how they will look. You can always use Shift+B to perform a RAM preview and view them at full frame rates.

September 14, 2012 at 12:46 pmHi Matt,
Thanks for piping in!I’m curious. When you make references to Premiere using “old school” methods, are you talking CS6? A colleague of mime uses it… professionally and stated huge improvements in from previous versions.
