Lower third Graphics – huge file size
Hi guys
I need to try and think of a better way to manage my lower third graphics for my edit. I have a 6 hour DVD instructional series, with alot of lower thirds to pop up. I am working in 1440×1080, and my lower third gfx have been designed to this spec.
I have rendered them all out as tiff sequences with alpha (which took ages) and now they occupy almost 1 TB of disk space.
I really did not think about this aspect of the project, as the original plan was to work in SD and it was only last minute the client changed their mind and wanted to future proof and shoot HD.
Any way, i have thousands of files to import. I am used to working with tiff sequences in my post production job, but i need to use another method for this (job on the side) to lower the file size.
QT Animation will prob lower the file size – Is this recommended in FCP. What if i was to render the tiffs again, but without an alpha channel, and render a matte out instead?
Any assistance/advice would be greatly appreciated.
