The 13″ Powerbook G4 can run Final Cut.

My Macbook 13″ runs Final Cut pretty decently so I’m guessing the MacBook Air should have no problems processor wise of being able to run it. The biggest limitation is it’s lack of a firewire port. You’ll have to bring media to it via USB or transfer it over Wifi.

How can someone be so obnoxious? Sorry, I meant 12″ Powerbook G4. Please God, forgive me.

No Firewire port, that will make media work difficult and certainly working in the field difficult.
1.6 and 1.8Ghz processors. I really don’t want to run FCP on that slow of a processor.
13″ Screen is just too small for me to work with FCP. I don’t even run it on my 15″ MacBook Pro.
Now for travel, internet, mail, yay! Perfect!

So many people cant get there computer type striate, and thus requiring others to ask for clarification.

Dunno,…. I’m still waiting for them to produce a laptop using the 23″ cinema display in the lid.
What is interesting about the AIR is the solid state 64GB HDD. Wonder what the through-put is. Maybe Apple should start making P2.

Good point, Steve Eisen! Again, you’re thinking ahead! It would make sense that MacBook Pro Air has got to be where they’re going next with MacBook Air, with firewire & SATA perhaps possible via an ExpressCard port and all the other toys needed for professional FCS use.
At the same time, I was somewhat surprised that some type of HDDVD and/or Blueray “SuperDrive” was not announced by now, at least for the Mac Pro line. Instead, Steve Jobs’ moved away from optical drives altogether in the “Air”!
Perhaps MacBook Pro Air and/or a HD burner will be announced as soon as at NAB? As most of us know, Apple introduced a new MacBook Pro at NAB last year (or maybe that was two years ago) and hopefully they’ll announce something useful for pros yet again.
I’ll be at NAB again in April and now I’m looking forward to it that much more!
