July 16, 2015 at 1:47 amGood to know…with this clip both drop frame and non drop frame are greyed out. About to pull this baby into FCP 7 and see if I can get any satisfaction there. Thanks!

July 16, 2015 at 2:08 amI imported in FCP, and am getting the same result — the clip is a few seconds shorter. I have tried several clips, and it seems like every clip I import is a different length in Premiere (and FCP) than it is when I hit apple-i on my desktop to see the length.
Is it possible that this is always the case (clips change length when imported into projects) and I just never noticed? And if so…do I have to tell this client it’s impossible for me to send them a clip that’s the same length as the last one I sent them? Thanks again.

July 16, 2015 at 1:21 pmI have a feeling that the original files was set to 23.00fps which is a computer frame rate and not a true video frame rate (23.98), so it is always going to be a mismatch when bringing it into a video edit system.
This would also be why it won’t read DF or NDF timecode, it is a non-standard format.
