Kona 6.0.3
Posted by Stuart Simpson on March 11, 2009 at 11:21 amLooks like the new 6.0.3 drivers are out. Wonder if it will fix the sparkly white pixel problem on the K3?
I’m going to give it a whirl on our K3 to see! Mid-week excitement! 🙂

March 11, 2009 at 3:25 pmWanna know the cool part?
“Improved gamma integrity of KONA captured clips that are modified in After Effects and
then brought back into Final Cut Pro for further editing. (all KONA)”This means that when you render out of After Effects, there’s no more big gamma shift AND you don’t have to remove the AJAUncompressed.component from your library. This has been a problem with AE for a long while and AJA has found a way around it it looks like.
Cool….

That freaking gamma has created way too many issues and headaches for way too long.Stuart Ferreyra

How about MacOS 10.5.6 support? I was told that this was a serious issue with the Kona cards. Is this true?

Been running 10.5.6 for two or three months now all all three of our Kona 3 systems. What issues are supposed to be there?

March 12, 2009 at 1:40 pmStill on 10.5.5 here.
If you are going to go to 10.5.6, download the combo update from Apple.

“Hmmmm, I guess everything was resolved then. I know back in December we were told to hold up mainly due to ATTO R380 issues. We updated in late January with the installation of our SAN and all has been well so far.
Thanks for reminding me on that.

March 12, 2009 at 2:02 pmWOW!
That was a quick bunch of responses. Thanks, guys!
The issues… I’m not sure, but the last I talked with AJA thru email back before Christmas, they said to stay away at all cost. And reading the emails with 10.5.6 came out – the nightmares that occurred.
Well, let’s just say that I don’t have very much downtime to fix a meltdown.
