Hello, is my Macbook Pro with 2GB 667 MHz DDR SDRAM powerful enough to edit HD footage from a Panasonic HDX 900 Camera? I plan on adding 2 more Gigs to the computer and using my 500gig My Book External Hardrive, but I just wanted to ask you all if this sounds like I’ll be able to edit my video on this macbook. Thanks…

yes, the Panasonic records as DVCProHD and MBP can handle this and ProRes HD just fine, of course they are not as fast as desktop and have other limitations.

A quick search would give you several place where this topic have been discussed.

[Chancler Haynes] “and using my 500gig My Book External Hardrive”

    USB or FireWire?

    Hindsight is always 1080p
