Activity Forums Adobe Premiere Pro Is It Premiere CS4 or Is It Me?

It has been quite some time since your original post, and we are still experiencing a multitude of CS4 bugs.

We have it running on a Windows 7 machine, Core i7 920, 12gb of DDR3, Radeon HD4800 (dual monitor), 4tb of storage, and on-board sound (ASUS mobo – can’t say the model for sure but it was one of their higher-end models at the time).

The biggest frustration seems to come from encoding – when exporting from Premiere, Media Encoder seems to randomly insert green pixels in the bottom 5 rows of pixels on our footage, and this problem occurs completely at random, regardless of the output format or source footage.

The only solution has been to reinstall the entire suite, which works for about a month or two and then the problem returns, again, completely at random. Go figure.

Unplugging/plugging in headphones also seems to “hang” Premiere after the latest update, as does inserting or removing a USB key. This might be more of a Windows 7 issue though, but still frustrating.

Thankfully CS5 will be out in a few weeks, we are hoping that many of the CS4 bugs will be addressed, but I’m not holding my breath for quality any more. Adobe releases new versions of their entire lineup simultaneously and it’s hard to believe that each application gets the attention it needs.
