And you’re watching this on an external monitor?

8 bit bands. 10 bit bands less.

None and animation are 8 bit RGB codecs.

You can’t really judge it until you look at it on an external video monitor.

Im not 100% sure becuase I didnt do it and the person who did isnt here right now… But they usually give it to me in 8 or 10 and since it came out of the unreal engine at 8bit Im assuming they stuck with that. Everything looks fine in the images UNTIL i put them in the uncompressed codec.

[christina rule] “Everything looks fine in the images UNTIL i put them in the uncompressed codec.”

But you didn’t do this part? Why not put the pc render in an 8 bit FCP timeline and render a few seconds of it. Also, you can have the Fusion people download and install the AJA Uncompressed codec for windows and then it’ll be 8bit UC on your Mac. No recompressing.

—- Jeremy I am confused as to what youre saying

And if the comp guys download aja I dont think that will allow them to export it uncompressed out of Fusion… Im alittle confused on how that would help. Sorry 🙁

You said that the person who made the movie 8bit Uncompressed on your mac isn’t around right now?

This is what I want you to do.

Open FCP, import the pc “none” render and then make an8 bit Uncompressed timeline. Drag the fusion file in the timeline and hit no when FCP asks to chaneg the settings. hit render and let it cook for a few seconds then hit cancel. Navigate to the front of the timeline and check out a part of it that has the blue render bar ablove it on a proper monitor (not your computer monitor).

The AJA codec is a free third party codec from the nice folks at AJA. It allows pc users to view and render Uncompressed material that is coming from/going to Macs. It would help you as you would then get an 8bit 2vuy file and you wouldn’t have to recompress to 8bit Uncompressed.
