    Hey All,

Funky issue. I run PP 2.0 both at home and at work. Sometimes if we’re short on time w/ a project at work, I will bring it home on an external Hard Drive and bring it home on weekends. This latest project was started at work. We shot HDV, captured it in an HDV project, and the recaptured the HDV file into an SD project. We then scaled the HDV to fit in a SD 4×3 composition. Here’s the issue. At work, the HDV is displayed in it’s proper 16 x 9 aspect ratio in the preview window. At home, working in the same project, the HDV is displayed as a squishy crappy looking 4 x 3 in the preview window, with the black bars on the right and left of the image. What gives here? And please, straight answers to this question, and no “you should do it this way” posts. Thanks.

I have have had random clips do this to me. Sometimes for some reason PPRo misreads the aspect ratio the clip is supposed to be. Try this and see if it fixes your problem:

Right click on the video file in the project window
Select ‘Interpret Footage’. Under ‘Pixel Aspect Ratio’ it should probably read HD Anamorphic (1.333). If it does not check the ‘Conform to’ button and select the the HD Anamorphic setting or any setting that makes your video look right.

    Good luck, hope this helps.
