If you are rendering 1920×1080 15Mbps AVC/h.264 video as 1920×1080 15Mbps AVC/h.264 video… that’s as good as it gets. There will always be some quality loss when re-rendering. You could try the MainConcept AVC encoder with the same specs and see if it does a better job.

30 frames. 😉

Well… more frames means smoother movement. So 60fps should give you smoother movement than 30fps. That assumes you are watching on a device that can actually playback 60fps. Most TV’s will not. (of course this assume that you actually acquired the footage at 60fps)

I rendered the same video with the same settings, except I changed the fps (30 & 60), but for some reason the 60fps video is smaller in size (mbs). Why is that?

I don’t think so, nor would I want to deliver that. It’s too many frames for Internet video bandwidth. That’s double the data rate for something your eyes can barely perceive. IMHO it’s not worth it but I guess if you had really fast motion sports or something it might benefit. I guess over time they’ll support it but most video won’t benefit from it.

hi everybody i have some questions to.any help will be appreciated..i have an HD Hero 2 and the problem is when rendering at 720p 60fps..before rendering when i just play the video in Media Player and VLC the quality is amazing and you can easily notice the 60fps smoothness..but after rendering that smoothness is gone and it looks like a 30fps video..i tried the ”match media project settings” and it doesn’t works.i also tried manually changing the frame rate to more than 60.000 in the rendering options and still nothing..any suggestions.? i am rendering in Main COncept AVC/AAC (*.MP4) internet HD1080 or internet HD720

If you are working with 720/60p video then you should use the project template HD 720-60p (1280×720, 59.940 fps).

The Main Concept AVC encoder will not render frame rates greater than 29.97 which is why the motion doesn’t look as smooth. Try using the Sony AVC encoder instead. That will allow you to render at 59.940fps (which is what you want not 60.000).

thank you for your quick reply..i am already using the template of 1280×720 60p..i just checked the Sony AVC encoder and there’s no option for 1280×720..the lowest resolution is at 1440×1080 at 60i not 60p..i am using Vegas Pro 11 by the way and maybe there is no such an option..the option i have are :

Yes, if all you have is Vegas Pro 11.0, then you will have to make your own template. In previous versions of Sony Vegas Pro there were Internet templates for 720p but those have been moved to the MainConcept AVC encoder in Vegas Pro 11.0.

Here is the Vegas Pro 10.0 Sony AVC template for Internet 720-30p:

Just make your own based on this and change the frame rate to 59.940 (Double NTSC).
