  • Full screen preview not working

I’m trying to do a full screen preview on my secondary monitor. I’ve selected the proper monitor and use CMD-F12 to select all frames. However, the playback only displays the first frame. If I pause it and restart, it will display the frame I paused on. I have tried deleting my plist file and still nothing. Any ideas?

Unfortunately I’ve already tried that as well.

    Thanks,

It definitely has to do with your View menu settings.

How about View > Video Playback > Digital Video Desktop. Tried that?

Either that or do the “quit FCP > trash prefs > reboot > repair permissions > launch FCP > ensure View menu is set up correctly” boogie.

Throwing a little salt over your shoulder helps too.

Still nothing. I’ve even tried reinstalling the entire suite after following Apple’s instructions to delete the previous install. It doesn’t matter what device I select or if I have one or two monitors attached to my screen. It worked fine when I had a MacBook Pro but when I switched to a MacPro everything stopped working.

Not sure if you got this yet but I had the same problem and fixed it by going to

Final Cut Pro/ Audio Video Settings/ A/V Devices

    Then De-selecting Mirror on Desktop.

Now simply use Command – F12

    Hope this works.
