The real issue is that you need to start looking at current editing apps. FCP 7 is 4 years old. Discontinued 2 years ago. Apple isn’t supporting it anymore.

Woo there cowboy ! As mentioned we sorted our issues 4 years ago by re installing the program. We’re still okay. The issue is actually not as you suggest, that we need to look for another program, our FCP 7 (and that of many of my professional colleagues) works just fine in our chain. It’s the X factor – the manner in which Apple left a whole lot of people (companies) stranded when they launched X.
