Final Cut Pro 7 seems to have a bug. Working on a sequence in a project we are experiencing the following -when we add an element eg; a wipe that maybe called ‘Wipe 2’ – FCP7 renames the sequence name to ‘Wipe 2’; if we add a shot, FCP7 changes the sequence name to the shot id. What’s going on? be careful what you trash! Many thanks.

we have had the same problem. Sequence renames itself to the name of the last clip added.

Do either of you have FREEZE FRAMES in the sequence? I hear there is a bug that when you add a clip after a freeze frame, it does what you describe.

We’re now seeing the exact same behavior here when pasting material from one Sequence to another.

We’re using one of Shane’s methods to work on a large project and when compiling all the timelines together, the main Sequence changes name each time we do a Paste. Seems to pick a random name in the timeline to change it’s name to, but it’s always the name of one clip.

No Freeze Frames anywhere in the project.

As a follow up, I just had the same sequence change names three times as I was collapsing tracks. Really weird behavior going on now…..

Happening here to. Every time I paste a clip into a timeline, it changes name to match the newly pasted item…

Same issue cutting DVC PRO HD 24p.

Old projects don’t have the issue, but three of my new ones do. Trashed prefs etc… Nothing works.
