FCPX Projects and Events disappear as fcpx opens

Yes, this happens and it’s a bummer.

I use ChronoSync on my Macs now for big file transfers, setting up a quick ad hoc one-way sync between the source and destination folders. If any files fail to copy for any reason, they (and only they) are easily copied by just running the sync again.

Not really.

As we have mentioned before, not everyone works the same way.

For instance I use the raw media MXF files from our F55 in fcpx and other apps. An archive would not help us.

If I then archive the camera archive to LTO, I have to bring back e entire archive even if I need a few shots.

It’s not for us.

I don’t know why I have to provide a third way. You can make a disc image, but I don’t do that either. I’d rather have direct access to the raw media backed up and archived in three places. Two are local, one is offsite.

I take data seriously as I don’t have a job without it.

News flash everyone, Showtime seems to be using FCPX.

I’ve never had an issue with Finder copies but it only takes one job to go wrong!

We use finder to copy from the card twice once to the working drive and once to a backup, although I was looking to integrate ShotPut into our data workflows just as an extra precaution.

This isn’t the DITs use the Finder or Not: The Debate forum.

This is the FCPX or Not: The Debate forum. You instill values of FCPX on everyone else and provide that it’s the only way to work. If someone else works differently or sees another need, or perhaps offers real working advice from real working project and experiences, you tell them :good luck: and that they need to work on their reading comprehension. Sometimes you hand out grades like we are school children.

Of course you can’t have first-hand experience about everything, but when it’s clear that most of what you are posting about is second-hand from the Internet, AND you act like a huge jerk in the process, that coupling just makes you look pathetic.

If you actually read the rest of the thread, I say that I use Finder for personal projects, but for actual jobs where money is on the line, I don’t do that. I even linked to the utility I use for checksum verified copies.
