You shot 1080i, use the AJa Kona3 DVCPRO HD 1080i 29.97 easy setup. (1080i 29.97 is the same as 60i).

Hit control-q, reselect the easy setup. Only your SECONDARY should be set to 525, your primary should be set for 1080i 29.97.

Tried it a couple times. Primary is 1080, secondary is 525. What should the “Video Playback” setting be set to in FCP ?

I get nothing with that preset . . . .maybe I didn’t make it clear but the DVCPro 50 deck and monitor are SD.

I hear you. FCP should be set to HD and the control panel set to SD.

Please, hit control-q. Select the AJA Kona3 1080i 29.97 easy setup. That will take care of the FCP part of the equation.

Then, set up your control panel like we talked about before. Primary 1080i 29.97 and Secondary 525i 29.97. Then make sure to leave the SDI output in the secondary mode.

I’m really close, the colors look good, it’s just this jagged edge thing. I’ve seen this before, it’s as if you are looking at the video through a slightly distorted glass. Everything was captured as upper (odd) field.

Does this happen when you play the timeline or only when you are paused?

You still have the footage in an HD timeline, right?
