A few weeks ago I was editing away when FCP 6 (Intel) started acting up, specifically a problem with a DV NTSC timeline suddenly requiring rendering (orange bar) with only DV NTSC footage in the sequence.

Anyway, I trashed preferences using FCP Rescue 6 but the problem persisted. During my repeated attempts to resolve the problem using FCP Rescue I noticed that the program was acting strangely, taking too long to do the job and at one point stopping completely. After replacing FCP Rescue with a fresh copy all problems were solved (I still have a problem with multiclips causing FCP to crash, but that’s for another topic).

Since I’ve never seen a thread on this I thought I’d post a heads up for folks who use FCP Rescue and are unaware that a program that trashes corrupted files can itself become corrupted.

    And, so can the USER.

-But that’s a whole other story.
