    hello dears!
I am in trouble again. I need to export subtitles from Avid 6.5.2, not for another program, just to give the archive to a client. So, I have to deliver a file with Avid Caption TXT, UTF-8, and TTF letters archive . Synchronized, and with the word “start” for the begining in order to be synch. I tryied the caption export method (through effect mode) and it doesn’t work. Any other idea?
    Thank you!

So, you have a bunch of SubCap effects?
That should work. If you go into the effect editor, you can export a .txt file (It will be UTF-16 le).
Make sure you set it to export txt, not stl.
Then, the conversion to other formats is easy. If you don’t own subtitle software and don’t plan to do lots of subs in the future, outsource it. (I do it for a couple of beers.)

Bouke, thank you for your answer, the problem is that avid does not export anything from the subtitles. I go to effect editor / subcap/ caption file/ export caption/ . Then I select avod DS caption file (*txt) , put file name etc./ save /AND nothing happens

Create a new bin, named ‘bouke’, copy your sequence in that, quit avid.
Then, go to the project folder, zip the file called ‘bouke.avb’ and send it to me.

    No, you did not,
To where did you send what?
Not to my e-mail, nor did you post a link where the file could be downloaded.

These are very basic things. If you cannot do this, do not expect any help.
