Export setting for Premiere for highest quality DVD
There must be a bit of information I’m not understanding. I’m working on a large DVD project with about 20 small (~10min) video segments totalling perhaps 3-4hrs of footage. I’m planning on putting this on DVD-9 format disc. Obviously I’m looking to get the highest quality video on my DVD. What I’m confused about is what video format should I export my videos in (using Premiere) if I’m using Encore for DVD authoring. I understand DVDs ultimately use MPEG2 compression, and the quality will be dependent on the ultimate bitrate that the video is encoded in. But should I export each video segment in Quicktime, AVI, uncompressed AVI, microsoft DV AVI? Do each of the video files need to be compressed so that the sum of the file size are within the space of the DVD prior to building in Encore. Or does Encore handle all of the compression at build time and I can direct it to 20 files that are a few gigs a piece?
Any tips would be much appreciated.
