Export Premiere CC projects to Premiere CS 6

In CC: Export > XML

In CS6 Import > choose the XML.

I should add that we do this procedure all the time with freelancers who are still on CS6 or if we move a project to a system that doesn’t have CC on it. Super easy and completely works as promised by Adobe.

You could never simply open a Project file in an older version of PPro (or After Effects or FCP or pretty much any other software). But the XML option is essentially the same thing. You’ll need your CC membership for an additional month to export your projects but it does work as advertised.

No clue who told you that. That was never a feature nor ever mentioned in any materials nor by any Adobe personnel I ever talked to.

What Adobe DID say is that you would continue to have access to CS6 via Creative Cloud and that is true.

What pitfalls have you run in to? I’ve XML’d documentaries with 250 hours of raw material from FCP to Premiere Pro with no problem. We XML back and forth to / from CS6 no problem. XML from CC to CS6 is essentially the same thing as Project file from CC to CS6.

Import and all your Sequences and Bins are there ready to go. What else do you need?
