Nests are messy.

Sure they do, we use nests in about 90% of all the work we do here. That’s just completely wrong information about that as we use Edit to Tape to edit out everything to Beta, DV, DVCAM and DVCPro HD.
As long as your nests are rendered, there is no issue with them.

I was having the same issue w/ a 1/2 hour HD B-Roll sequence (All footage 23.98 and FCP settings 10- bit HD 23.98). Having just installed FCS2, I had not looked at my RT settings. I spent half a day banging my head against the wall while ETT ate up all my drive space trying to render this monster.
Thanks again and Long Live The Cow!

March 4, 2009 at 1:01 amWe have also been having this problem this morning and found a very intersesting “feature” in FCP 6.0.4.
If your window layout has the video scopes visable, in RT, there is a Playback Video Scopes option. If this is ticked, ETT will want to render. If it is not ticked, it does not want to render.
