    Hello,

I know this is ‘off subject’ but I thought I could find help here. I just got a Dell
monitor (1707FP)(great buy at $220. free shipping), Hooked it up with the digital cable to my G4- the DVI monitor port, the other monitor is the Apple 19 inch running off the ADC monitor port. I like the Dell, but a little more ‘harsh’ then the Apple. Here’s the question: I want the menu bar and the dock to be back on my Apple monitor. But I can’t figure it out. No matter which ‘side’ I put them on the menu bar is on the Dell, the ‘digital’ connection. Can the menu bar and dock (I can drag the hard disk icons over) be made to come up on the Apple monitor? It’s easier on the eyes and I’m just use to using it, it’s also right in front of me, the Dell is off to my left side.

    thanks,

    Richard

    Go into your display preferences.

    Preferences>display>arrangement.
You should see representations of the two monitors. One will have a white “menu bar” at the top. Just drag that bar to the other “monitor”.
    That’s it.

    Tom,

Thanks, that was easy. I kept rearanging the positions of the monitors, but I didn’t know that I could move the ‘white’bar to the other monitor. I even read my manual.
Where is all this information kept?

    Thanks to all of you.

(I love keeping my bins open with the large icons on the Dell while I work. I wish I would have done this years ago.)

    Cheers,

    Richard

On your desktop. Apple Help. Type Multiple Displays and it will appear.

It says how to do this right on the screen when you have the “Displays” control panel open, under the “Arrangement” tab.

    Matte,

Absolutely. Any bigger and it would byte one. It’s like when I’m looking in the refrig. Where’s the mayo? My wife, “There it is right in front of you.”

It has to be a guy thing. I guess I think I’m so smart I don’t have to read all that. Just click OK and let’s get going.

    Thanks,

    Richard
