Drag and drop, copy and paste to time line.

This may have been answered else where so i apologize if i am asking you to re-explain ( although after a lot of time on Google i have been unable to find a thread that covers this from my angle).I had to re-install Sony Vegas Movie studio platinum 9.0a (upgraded to B) after a bad codex or somthing corrupted it, and so i am trying to get my settings back in line.
I used to be able to drag and drop clips in my timeline and also copy and paste . Now it will not give me that option (paste is no longer active and when i go to drop after dragging i get the circle with a line through it) . I have to go to the import link and bring in clips via that method. Before i re-installed the program,, this option WAS available. Is there a preference i am missing in options or a setting i need to change…??? Thanks Andy

Any ideas, been searching, still cannot drag and drop into timeline or trimmer or cut and paste into timeline and i used to be able to, what might i be missing… ?????

Finally found the answer in this thread https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/24/920516 I had my program running as admin. took it off admin in win7 compat mode and looks like it works.
