Two announcements on the After Effects front:

Chaos Stock vol. 2: Royalty free SD and HD backgrounds + After Effects project files

Volume 2 contains 21 motion backgrounds (HD version has 18 bgs) that not only come as pre-rendered QuickTime movies, they include the complete After Effects 6.5 project file. No third party plugins are needed, just those that come with the Production Bundle. This gives you the ability to modify the project and create something that doesn’t look like stock footage in a fraction of the time it would take to create something from scratch.

Take a look at the footage and download a sample project:

ReSizer 2.0, Upconvert from SD to HD

ReSizer 2.0 provides algorithms for intelligently upconverting footage and scaling images. This gives you great flexibility in the way that you scale images in After Effects and Final Cut Pro.

The plugin produces exceptional results, regardless of whether you’re up-converting from SD to HD, web video/podcasts to SD, or zooming in 800%. Multiple algorithms are used to accurately increase the resolution of your original image. A De-Interlacer that uses time estimation algorithms (optical flow) is built-in to produce cleaner original frames from SD footage.

Come check out a demo of both at our NAB booth, SL5138-F in the Plugin Pavilion (right next to Adobe). We’ll be hanging out with all the rest of the plugin delinquents…
